100 Cintra Street Hostel, Penang, Malaysia

Converted to a hostel in Dec 2004, there is a magnificent view of the famous Penang Hills from here

A truly excellent hostel - it really is the real deal, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I would really recommend it to anyone staying in Penang. Great location, is very nearby everything you need, and the staff are always on hand to point in the right direction!

A nice little retreat from the commercial backpackers strip only a short walk away from everything. Owner is really helpful.

It's very interesting place to stay, very different from your run of the mill hostel. The building has loads of character and everyone is very friendly.

Near from there, the Toy Museum is Penang's latest attraction with over 100,000 toys, dolls, models and other collectibles.
Started by an avid collector of toys, the museum is also said to be the largest of its kind in Asia with many different chambers showcasing toys from different genres such as anime, Hong Kong movie stars, horror, science fiction and fantasy.

The location is great except for the proximity of a club which resulted in a lot of bass from 11pm till 4-5am.
